About Wolhurst Lake

Wolhurst Lake is a small urban lake at roughly 5,370 feet in Littleton, within Arapahoe County along the South Santa Fe Drive corridor. The lake sits at the center of the Wolhurst Adult Community, a manufactured-home neighborhood of about 300 residences, and the water is the visual anchor of the area. If you live nearby and want a quiet stroll with views of resident Canada geese and the occasional great blue heron, Wolhurst Lake delivers a low-key outing close to home.

The lake itself is modest in size but offers a pleasant walking loop along its shore. Flat, easy terrain makes the path suitable for seniors and anyone looking for a gentle walk rather than a strenuous hike. Benches along the route give walkers a place to rest and enjoy the waterfowl. The surrounding community maintains the grounds, and the area is noticeably quiet compared to busier parks along the South Platte corridor just to the east.

Bird watching is one of the main reasons visitors mention Wolhurst Lake. Canada geese are a constant presence, and the shoreline vegetation attracts red-winged blackbirds, mallards, and the occasional raptor. Spring and fall migration periods bring additional species through the area. The lake is not stocked for fishing and is not managed as a public recreation site, so visitors should set expectations accordingly.

The Wolhurst Adult Community surrounding the lake includes a clubhouse with a banquet hall, pool tables, a library, a bar lounge, and a community garden. A swimming pool is available to residents. These amenities serve the community rather than the general public, but the lake itself is visible and accessible from surrounding streets and paths.

Wolhurst Lake is best visited during spring and fall when temperatures are mild and bird activity peaks. Summer afternoons can be warm at this elevation along the Front Range, but early mornings are comfortable. The location is convenient to Littleton's downtown, the South Platte River Trail, and Chatfield State Park, all within a short drive. For a quiet lakeside walk without crowds or entry fees, Wolhurst Lake is a hidden neighborhood gem in the southern suburbs of Denver.

Put my family though the ringer. Good credit, clean back ground, still would not approve .I feel sorry for the residents that try to sell. Park will approve anyone.

Manager Carla listens well and works very hard to keep up our clubhouse. She has a kind manner and helps where she can. It is difficult to know exactly what Joe is supposed to be doing as I know he needs to primarily take direction from corporate. I have seen him friendlier lately so I hope that demeanor continues as it goes a long ways with primarily seniors. Residents have been used to maintenance as well as groundskeeping, so it has been a paradigm shift of sorts.

Sometimes there's food in the clubhouse... Not for homeless vagrant stink body parasites though... Security will tase you.

Wolhurst Adult Community has been absolutely wonderful, and a big part of that experience has been working with Carla. She is truly exceptional — knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. Carla is such a pleasure to work with, and she makes the entire process smooth and stress-free. If you’re considering Wolhurst, I highly recommend it. The community is beautiful, well-kept, and welcoming, and having someone like Carla there makes all the difference. Highly satisfied!

Karla in the wolhurst office was wonderful! Very informative about what and who is responsible for all the activities in the park as well as how to make our new home more esthetically pleasing! Thank you for your assistance!

I would like to say that we have had a pretty tough time since we moved here. Not due to anything Wholhurst has done. Just personal things. However, one person who has been consistent and very supportive has been Carla the Manager. She is kind, considerate and also very professional in her job. She’s checked in on us when we had a very difficult situation and shown so much empathy toward us. I think she’s a great manager and person to have in a management position especially here. She’s had to check on problems with so many different people and good or bad. She does very well. She has a lot to take care of considering 350 plus residents all want something different. I give Carla a 10 out of 10 dealing with this large park. Thanks to her we have felt more comfortable and confident about living here.

Rent goes up every year, year after year. They mow the yards, yeah what yards or grass? Instead of this useless service that is not needed they can’t get their heads out of you know where and shovel snow. These people are on social security, but rent keeps getting worse, and they want a 70/80 or 90 year olds to shovel snow, really? Let’s rebuild a club house that maybe at best 30% of the people use. Completely useless, once again it’s corporate America and greed. You could spend your money wisely and just get an apartment with a garage for what you’re going to pay for this. Not to mention I just drove around and cars on jacks, one house must have had 30 boxes on the front porch, (gee a fire hazard) and nothing is done!! But god forbid if you park overnight on the street. WOW really wow.

I would like to thank Carla Sharff for all her help at the club house. The Women’s club is trying to figure out how to put on our annual Thanksgiving dinner without a stove in the kitchen. Carla is ordering a warming oven and some hot plates that will make it possible for us to provide dinner for all our residents . Carla is always willing to listen to our needs and help out whenever she can. It’s a pleasure having her as our new manager. Cheryl Brailsford President of Women’s club
