About Flatiron Reservoir
This place is awesome. It's tight.I mean, there's not that many camping spots. So it's pretty close knit. You don't get overcrowded. The fishing is beyond excellent, so be ready to catch some trout.
This past weekend, my wife and I and two other family friends were at Flatirons Reservoir and we all agreed that it’s a great hidden gem to get away from civilization. There were people camping in the teepees and during the wee hours of Saturday morning a bear dragged one of their coolers about 50 yards from there space but, we didn’t see/encounter anything. Fishing was good and the water was very clean and clear!
Went there few times caught 3 small fish view was beautiful but fishing very poor
This is my kid's favorite place to go
Nice camping and fairly quiet
Great place to go and enjoy.
Cool campsite with plenty of pull-ins that are lakeside and inland. There's a few TP sites; I think I saw three. Interestingly enough, the teepee sites did have some Verizon cell coverage which I thought was pretty convenient. They also sported power and USB plugins inside the teepees with some rope lighting made it pretty cool. There's no swimming or boating or paddle boarding in this lake due to dangerous currents so it's a pretty quiet lake and fairly private since nobody's allowed to frolic in the water. There were a few campers when I went there. All of them had RVs. They were no primitive campers. It was a brisk evening with temperatures getting down to about 41 by the time the sun came up, which probably contributes to that. Each of the sites were very well maintained. The fire rings look great. They were all clean and raked. I did not use the bathroom facilities but I did notice that there were two buildings that provided them on either end of the park. The camp host was off duty when I went there but was easily accessible. Deer were everywhere very easy to capture very up Close pictures of the deer that were just chewing on the grasses. I would definitely love to come back here during the spring, summer and warmer fall months and do some primitive camping or maybe even getting into those teepees for a week.
What a beautiful natural..
Beautiful, quiet, small. Very serene. Quant but specious. Quick jaunt from Longmont. Dog friendly. 20/30/50 Electric hook ups and dump site close by.
There are so many things to like about this campground … we’ve been here a few times over the years. It was peaceful in the past, but we recently were there on a Monday and Tuesday and the road by the campground was very noisy with work trucks going back and forth, starting as early as 5:00 am. There seems to be some sort of a construction project going on. We will plan to visit over a weekend next time in hopes that the road will be a little quieter, like it has been in the past. Regardless, if you like to fish, this place is for you. If you like to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery, this place is for you.
